The Introvert’s Secret Weapon to Getting Clients Online

There’s a lot of talk out there about using free coaching sessions to hook clients and mastering the art of “sealing the deal.”

 

That’s fine and dandy for some folks, but for those introverts among us, the thought of trying to overcome objections and essentially hard-sell folks into our programs and services is about as unappealing as going in for a root canal.

 

What if there was a better way?

 

What if you could STOP trying so hard to convince people to work with you and instead magnetically attract the folks who are actually looking for your solutions?

 

What if you could wake up to requests from your ideal peeps asking YOU to work with THEM (instead of the other way around)?

 

Because they get what you do and how it would be helpful for them. And they’re hungry for more of your (paid) solutions.

 

No, it’s not a pipe dream.

 

It’s possible when you learn how to engage your potential clients in a virtual “conversation”, en masse, that has the right peeps fired up to work with you before you even SPEAK with them one-on-one.

 

And that gets them SO fired up that when you do speak with them, they’re expressing gratitude for your time and asking you how you can work together (instead of you working hard to convince them to sign up for your programs/services).

 

Which means you can fill your business with awesome, motivated clients that you LOVE to work with day by day (can I get a HELL YEAH?!).

 

Are you ready?

 

Here’s the secret.

 

Okay, it’s not really so secret after all. In fact, many of you know about it, might have even dabbled in it here and there.

 

I’m talking, of course, about article marketing, a.k.a. writing articles to publish in your newsletter and/or blog in an attempt to showcase your fanciness and get readers all fired up for other ways you can help them (including becoming paying clients :)).

 

But.

 

And this is a BIG but.

 

There’s more to it than simply slapping a few words together and calling it an article. I mean, yeah, you can do that, but it won’t do much to help you grow your biz. There’s a fine art to writing simple yet impactful articles, and when you get it right those articles accomplish three things:

 

1) They attract new clients into your biz. Publishing informative articles on your blog is a fantastic way to spread the word about your offerings while giving potential clients a taste of what you have to offer. If they like what they see, they’ll likely poke around your website which, if written with conversion in mine (as we teach in the Write Your Website workshop), will help to draw them onto your newsletter list and/or your paid solutions.

 

2) They educate new and existing readers about their need for your products/services. Let’s face it: YOU know all of the many, glorious ways you can make your clients’ lives better, but THEY most likely don’t. They may know that you offer tarot readings but do they know that you sell crystals as well? Similarly, they may have come to you for chiropractic services to heal back pain, but do they know that your treatments can help with migraines too? Or pre-menstrual cramps? Or pretty much anything else under the sun? 🙂 Writing articles is a great way to let folks know all the different ways you can serve them without coming across as overly pushy or (gasp) sales-y.

 

3) They inspire your ideal clients to do better. To BE better. A lot of folks are content to go along with the status quo because they’re afraid, or maybe because they don’t know any other ways to do things. Your articles can help open their minds to new opportunities and possibilities they may have never even dreamed of. You can help them see the world in new ways. Your articles can inspire them to make a difference (and by extension, each article you write can make a difference by the potential impact it has on others. Pretty cool, wouldn’t you say?).

 

So simple. So powerful. By merely sharing the thoughts that are already swirling in that noggin of yours, you can help to make your clients’ lives better. And in return, many will be eager to learn more about how you can help them. (Think about it: have you ever read a fantastic article, thought, “YES! That’s exactly the solution I need for XYZ problem” and then went searching that person’s website for more in-depth solutions? Pulling out your credit card in full anticipation – and willingness – to shell out cash in exchange for knowledge and resources? I know I have. And I know I’m not alone. When you have a problem you can’t solve, it’s like an itch you just. can’t. reach.)

 

And while it’s slowly driving you mad, you search desperately for something – ANYTHING – to give relief. Even if you have to drive to the store and buy one of those back-scratcher thingies. At that point, you’ll do almost anything to get rid of the pain. Same is true of nearly any challenge people face. At some point, we can’t take it anymore and will look for solutions. You want to be the one offering those solutions on a silver platter, and you do so by providing information in your articles (initial relief) and then pointing folks toward your more in-depth (paid) solutions for long-term relief.

 

When you do it this way, folks will seek you out for your expertise and guidance when the time is right for them – no pushing or hard selling required. (I can almost hear  your sigh of relief – and trust me, I’m right there with ya! :))

 

I can’t even tell you how many times clients have stepped forward to say that they’ve been reading my articles for weeks/months/years and want to know how we can work together to solve their challenges. Or they sign up for my paid programs, because they’ve come to see me as a trusted resource.
